Kaleb C. Hight, LNHA
I was born and raised in South Dakota. I grew up in the Olivet/Freeman area. My first exposure to LTC was as the son of an LPN who worked at the local nursing home. I eventually worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for three years. During that experience, I developed a passion for working with those needing nursing care. I got sidetracked from the LTC profession and spent approximately 14 years in the banking industry, which was a great training ground for what was to come. During that time, I also graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
In 2011, I returned to LTC in the roll of Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and have immensely enjoyed this role ever since. I married my wife, Heather, in 1998 and have 3 sons: Eli, Lucas, and Blake. I enjoy spending time with my family, hunting, fishing and watching America’s football team. I joined ULC in September of 2017 and am excited to be a part of such a vibrant LTC community.

My first introduction to the 'once' United Retirement Center was in 1979-81 in which I held the position of Nurse Aide. I looked forward to working my shifts and always wanted to be at the facility. I graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelors of Science degree from the College of Home Economics in Restaurant Hotel and Institutional Management.
I located in Maryland where I gained experience through various types of Restaurants ranging from Full Service Dining to Fast Casual and Quick Serve type of Operations. I have always been intrigued by the behaviors and performance which defines exceptional customer service. Likewise I found that the depth of timeliness to the daunting task of food costing is the thought provoking fun of food service in general.
I reclocated back to Brookings SD in an effort to live closer to my family. I feel privileged to resume my career at the warm hearted United Living Community.
